They have a thinking problem. Under pressure, people reach for the first plausible answer, and in decisions they start from a solution someone senior already favours, which quietly closes off every other option. This workshop gives your team a structured way to slow down at the right moment, frame the problem properly, and work through to an answer everyone can stand behind. ## What your team learns - Sort a tangled situation into separate, workable issues, and decide which to tackle first. - State the problem or the decision as a problem, not as somebody's preferred solution. - Gather the facts that matter, from the people who have them. - Find the true cause, rather than the first plausible explanation. - Generate and compare real options against agreed requirements, using the MAX4™ format. - Test a plan for what could go wrong before committing to it. ## Who it is for Senior leaders, middle managers and mixed teams, in any industry, in or out of IT. It suits a group facing recurring operational problems, contested decisions, or a change programme where the stakes are high. Mixed groups often work best, because the people who see the problem and the people who can act on it are in the same room. ## Format and pricing | Option | Duration | Price per group | | --- | --- | --- | | Standard | 2 days | $13,500 | | Extended | 3 days | $15,500 | Ex GST. The extended version gives more practice time on your own situations. Every workshop is customised to your organisation, so content and emphasis are set with you before we run it. Onsite or virtual, up to 15 people, and 12 works best. ## Common questions ### Can we use our own problems and decisions? Yes. Between 40% and 50% of the workshop is practical application, using our case studies and your own live or recent work. ### Does this work outside IT? Yes. The method is industry-agnostic and has been used from the boardroom to the factory floor, across government, utilities, finance, mining, law and defence. ### Is there an online version? Not yet.
