An independent facilitator for the problems that matter
We run the session. Your people bring the knowledge, the method brings the order, and being an outsider means we can ask the question nobody inside the organisation wants to ask.
When people call us
- A major incident is still open, and the theories outnumber the facts.
- A problem has been fixed 3 times and keeps returning.
- A decision is stuck, usually because the most senior person in the room named a solution before anyone framed the problem.
- A change or project is about to go live and nobody has tested what could go wrong.
- Two teams disagree, and the disagreement is now about people rather than evidence.
What we do
We use the KEPNERandFOURIE process that fits the situation: CauseWise for a cause, SolutionWise for a decision or a solution, RiskWise for a plan, ThinkingWise or PriorityWise when the situation is tangled and nobody agrees where to start.
By the end you have a documented line of reasoning, not just a conclusion, which is what makes the answer defensible when an executive asks how you know.
What you get
- A clear statement of the problem or decision, agreed by the people in the room.
- The evidence, recorded against the structure, so the reasoning can be reviewed later.
- Agreed actions with owners.
- A written record your team can reuse: output from our KF-AI Facilitator app, a KF spreadsheet, or a KF Miro template, whichever suits how your team works.
- The option of having us project manage the actions afterwards, if you would rather not carry that internally.
How it works
Most engagements start with a short call, then a scoping conversation about the situation, the people who need to be in the room and the outcome you need. Sessions run onsite or virtually. Facilitation is from $5,000 per day ex GST, and the final quote depends on preparation, session length and location.
Common questions
Do you need to understand our technology?
No. The method works by asking your experts the right questions in the right order. Andrew's background is IT, so the language is familiar, but the process does not depend on us knowing your systems.
How much of our people's time does this take?
Less than you would expect. We gather most of the information in the background, meeting each stakeholder or team on their own, and the group session happens once, after the facts are in.
Can you facilitate remotely?
Yes. Sessions run virtually, which is how a lot of our work happens with teams split across cities and countries.
What happens to the actions after the session?
They sit with you, with owners against them. If you would rather not carry the follow-through internally, we can project manage the action list.
Will we be able to do this ourselves afterwards?
That is usually the point. Many clients start with a facilitated session, see how it works, and then train their team.
